Come in whatever you feel comfortable in but loose, comfortable clothing is ideal, as I may need to access areas such as your arms, legs or abdomen depending on your treatment. You’ll always be appropriately covered and your comfort is a priority throughout.
Ensure you have something to eat within a few hours of your appointment and stay well hydrated. Avoid arriving on a completely empty stomach, and give yourself enough time to arrive without feeling rushed. Other than that, there’s no special preparation needed.
Most people can carry on with their day as normal after acupuncture. You may feel relaxed or a little tired, so listen to your body and take things gently if you need to. Staying hydrated and avoiding particularly strenuous activity immediately afterwards can also be helpful.
You don’t need to bring anything special. If you have information about medications, diagnoses or recent investigations that you think may be relevant, you’re welcome to bring this with you. Most importantly, just bring yourself — we’ll go through everything we need during your consultation.
